Don’t wait until the November rush to evaluate your health and benefit plans.
At CalCPA Health, we’ve seen the last-minute scramble year after year in November and December when firms realize that open enrollment is going on and they need to quickly decipher benefits, weigh options, and make critical decisions under pressure.
Add these items to your “to-do” list and get ready for open enrollment:
1) evaluate your current coverage
2) understand what your employees (or you) need
3) explore smarter, more cost-effective benefit strategies
4) learn how HSAs work and the pre-tax savings options they offer
5) learn the difference between PPO, HSA, EPO, and HMO plans
6) understand deductibles, co-payments, and coinsurance
7) read “You Can’t Use What You Don’t Understand” which ran in our July newsletter to learn some basics to get to know your insurance plan
